Social Media Marketing Tips for New Aestheticians

business content planning social media May 06, 2022

If you’ve been following along with our Small Studio team for a while, you know we love the field of aesthetics. Anything related to facials, skincare, injectables, and beyond—we are HERE for it and helping our clients market all that goodness on social media. While we’re a Milwaukee-based social media agency, we get to work with clients from all over, and each one has a unique mission that we want to help spread. If you’re a new aesthetician and ready to kickstart your social media marketing, we have a few social media tips to get things moving!

Utilize Your Business Branding

If you haven’t determined your business branding just yet, no worries—we can help with that as well. Having your business logo (and a few variations of it), brand colors, fonts, and a mission statement or philosophy can be crucial when it comes to creating a cohesive social media platform. First impressions aren't just in-person anymore—we’re seeing the significance of doing so in social media marketing all the more in recent years. Your social media can be a digital representation of your studio space, business vibe, and even the way you want people to feel when they interact with your content.

Highlight Your Services

While this one may seem obvious, a lot of aestheticians don’t leverage their wide range of expertise when sharing on social media. Break down what you’re doing in your facials instead of just saying you offer them. Things like the type of cleansers you use, what serums you utilize, and how you determine which custom facial mask you pick based on your client's skin type are all juicy details for you to share on social media. Your audience will not only have a better idea of what to expect when they visit your studio, but they’ll be familiar with products and may even ask for them by name! Similarly, be sure to share about any add-ons or facial enhancements you offer. LED light therapy, a lip mask, arm and hand massage—by educating on the gorgeous benefits and relaxation that comes with these upgrades, you'll be more likely to upsell from a place of authenticity.

Collaborate With Other Other Business Owners

Let’s face it, being a new aesthetician setting up your business can seem overwhelming. That cliché about it taking a village? We find that can make all the difference. Create a new relationship with a fellow small business owner or partner with someone you love and whose work aligns with your mission to create a giveaway or social media collaboration. Not only will this help your business gain exposure, it’s also a great way to give back and show your community who you are.
